I was in need of a general handyman having just moved house, and Peter Byrne is just the ticket. Thoroughly experienced and very personable, having him in the house for a few days has been an absolute pleasure. He can turn his hand to most things and has been a real help from plumbing in a dishwasher, to fixing a rickety loft ladder to fixing a bathroom light. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

After trying other high profile names in gas fires, we obtained Valley Fires and Fireplaces from HD Connect. We found them the best in old fashioned customer courtesy and there for we purchased and they did a first class job, preparing and fitting the gas fire. We would highly recommend them to anyone regarding a gas fire and installation. First Class.

You have already helped but can you help further?
I have just employed the services of an electrician who was recommended by one of your readers (issue 66), and I am very pleased with that choice thank you for the recommendation.
However I need work doing to my outside bathroom waste pipes, and I am not sure whether I need a plumber or a building maintenance chap? Have any of your readers recommended anyone suitable for this type of work?
If this letter suggests to you that I am slightly dizzy, I'll just say that I totally know that I don't need a gardener, decorator, engineer, driving tutor blah blah. Maybe a straight jacket supplier would be useful!
Keep up the good work, the magazine is extremely useful.

To whom it may concern
We have used an electrician out of your book called B T Electrical he was called Brian he was very well mannered and he mended two of our light switches. We paid him and in conversation we asked him if he was busy at the moment. He said he was finishing off a job then he would come back and see what we wanted and give us a price. He came back and gave us a price for what we wanted done and a date to suit us as we were decorating and said he would fit in with us. He then worked round us so as not to hold us up. He rewired all the house and put us a new box in. We are very pleased with his work. When we need anything else he will come back. We have told our friends about him and he is now doing work for them. It is hard to fid a good worker theses days. We have not got a problem in recommending B T Electrical.

Brighouse Plumbing & Heating

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have today used Brighouse Heating and Plumbing Ltd, for repairs to a leaking bathroom sink which we have been unable to use all week. We rang the above firm yesterday with the promise of a visit today. He apologized for being 10 minutes late, and then assessed the problem without further ado. We were impressed with the reliable and competent service, and are now able to use the basin again, so we were happy with the service and workmanship and will not hesitate to use the firm again and recommend them to our friends. Thank you to the advert in the useful HD Connect booklet. It was such a relief to have someone reliable, courteous, and who charged a fair price for the job. A refreshing change.

In Issue 63 on the painting/decorating page, is an advert for KAL DECOR lady painting, decorating and tiling. I telephoned and arranged for KAL to quote me for painting my bathroom.
